UPSC CAPF Eligibility Criteria

Only qualified individuals will be recruited for the position of Assistant Commandant through the CAPF AC 2023, which the Union Public Service Commission will hold. Before applying for the CAPF exam 2024, the applicant must meet the CAPF AC exam requirements. The candidate’s educational background, age restriction, and physical requirements are among the eligibility requirements. The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a government-recognized institution.

Educational Qualification

The candidates must meet specific educational requirements to be eligible for CAPF. The criteria are mentioned below:

  • Candidates must meet the government-recognized university Bachelor’s degree requirement as part of the UPSC CAPF Eligibility Criteria.
  • Other academic institutions recognized as universities by Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or founded by an Act of Parliament, are also accepted.
  • Candidates, who took the qualifying test but have not yet received their results, may also apply for the CAPF test. However, it should be noted that unless the applicant can prove completing the test after passing the CAPF entrance exam, admission will only be provisional.
  • Candidates with professional and technical credentials that the government has deemed comparable to a professional and technical degree are also eligible to apply for the CAPF AC 2024.
  • Suppose a candidate has completed an exam held by another Institution whose standard supports their eligibility. In that case, UPSC may sometimes regard them as eligible candidates even if they lack the aforementioned requirements.

UPSC CAPF Age Limit

The candidate must be between the ages of 20 and 25. Additionally, the age requirement for the position of Assistant Commandant is 20 to 25 years old, according to the UPSC CAPF. However, individuals from different categories have been permitted exceptions to the maximum age restriction.

Candidates from the reserved category and those who have served their country in the military are given age relaxation. Everyone is subject to the age restriction law, and age is calculated from the day of birth until August 1, 2023. The maximum age for reserved categories is as follows:

For all SC/ST applicants, there is a 5-year upper age limit relaxation.

  • For all applicants in the OBC category, there is a 3-year upper age limit relaxation.

  • No signs of chronic conditions including heart disease, TB, diabetes, any sort of arthritis, high blood pressure, or bronchial asthma.
  • Nowhere on the body is there a detectable or apparent glandular enlargement.
  • A healthy chest should be free of abnormalities, including a flat or pigeon-shaped chest and creaky rosary deformities.
  • The heart and lungs must be healthy.
  • Hands, feet, and limbs should be completely formed and developed.
  • It should be possible to observe every joint moving perfectly.
  • There should not be any old or poorly healed bone fractures.
  • Congenital abnormalities or malformations should not exist.
  • Should not exhibit signs of a compromised constitution from a past acute or chronic illness.
  • Should be free of genital urinary tract illness.
  • No scrotal or inguinal edoema, nor any kind of hernia.
  • The size of both testicles in the scrotum is normal.
  • No flat feet, varicose veins, or knock-knees.

  • Should not have TACHYCARDIA (a pulse rate of more than 100 beats per minute) or BRADYCARDIA (a pulse rate of less than 50 beats per minute).

Nationality

For the UPSC CAPF, the applicant must be a citizen of India. Candidates who meet the following citizenship requirements, other than Indian nationals, may apply for the exam:

Application Fee 2024

  • You can pay the Assistant Commandant Exam application fee offline or online.
  • A candidate may pay online using SBI Net Banking or a Credit, Debit, Master, Visa, or Rupay card. Direct cash payments to SBI Bank branches are accepted for offline mode fees.
  • The applicant should choose the “Pay by cash” option during Part II of the UPSC CAPF 2024 registration process, print the system-generated Pay-in-Slip, and deposit the money as soon as feasible at any SBI Branch.
  • Female, SC, and ST applicants are not required to pay any fees. All other applicants must pay a registration fee of INR 200.

The CAPF AC 2024 personality test and interview will be held in New Delhi’s Dholpur House, which is home to the UPSC. UPSC CAPF Exam Pattern

PET & Medical Standard Test

Candidates who pass the first round of the CAPF AC test will be eligible for Stage 2 of the exam, a Physical Endurance and Medical Test when the CAPF result 2024 is made public.

Interview

The last phase of the interview or personality test will be held for candidates who are found fit and who pass the medical standards test. The UPSC CAPF Selection Process will award 150 points for this step.

  • It is significant to note that applicants who have been deemed medically incompetent but have been granted permission by the Appellate Authority to appear before the “Review Medical Board” in support of their appeal will also be invited to the final round.
  • Candidates selected for the interview must obtain the e-summon letter posted on the official website. Enter the captcha code and the seven-digit roll number to download the letter.
  • There is a panel of four members, one of whom is the chairperson and is a current member of the CAPF. The other three are professors or specialists with extensive backgrounds in their respective professions.
  • To boost the candidate’s confidence, there is an introductory session at the beginning.
  • The questions that follow are based on the responses provided on the DAF (Detailed Application Form).
  • At both the national and regional levels, candidates are questioned on current events.

UPSC CAPF Marking Scheme

The second paper of the UPSC CAPF consists of 125 multiple-choice questions for a total of 250 points.

1) Written Paper

Paper II includes General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension, it is for 200 marks and the time duration for this section is 3 hours.
2) Physical Test
100 meters race – The time limit for men and women is 16 seconds and 18 seconds respectively.
800 meters race – The time limit for men and women is 3 minutes 45 seconds and 4 minutes 45 seconds, respectively.
Long jump – The qualifying distances for men and women are 3.5 meters and 3 meters respectively.
Shot put – The qualifying distance for men is 4.5 meters.
3) Interview
This round is for 150 marks
