TNPSC Exam is done to choose the qualified applicants for Group 1 to Group 8 level positions in the Tamil Nadu government. The recruitment for various posts is carried out by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC). Fresh graduates are also eligible to apply because TNPSC recruiting exams don’t require any prior expertise. About TNPSC

Tamil Nadu state conducts its own PSC exam for the aspirants of Tamil Nadu state. The PSC exam of this state is referred to as the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, also known as the TNPSC exam. This was adopted by the Madras Service Commission in 1970. The exam aims to recruit candidates for the state civil services from all over the Tamil Nadu state and address the Government regarding the issues related to the Commission. The main headquarters of this Commission is located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

TNPSC conducts exams in two groups – Group-1 and Group-2 examinations. The exams are divided into 3 stages- Preliminary exam, Mains and Personal interview, and the language of the exam is English. Thereby the candidates are filtered after each stage. The most eligible candidates get the job offer. TNPSC Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for TNPSC can be categorized into mainly three parts. The educational qualifications, age limit, and nationality. All applicants must go through this eligibility process carefully before applying for any exam since various exams are being conducted by TNPSC, like Group-1, Group-2, Group-3, Group-4, Assistant Engineer, District Educational Officer, and Village Administrative Officer. Each of these exams has its limitations for the candidates to qualify for the exam.

Qualification

Since there are various posts under TNPSC, each has its educational qualification.

  • The candidates who desire to appear for the Group-1 examination should be graduates of a recognized university or a deemed university.
  • The applicants who wish to appear for the Group-2 examination should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Each post under the Group-2 examination requires different educational qualifications.
  • All applicants applying for the Group-4 examination should have an educational qualification of SSLC certification or any equivalent certificate.
  • Applicants applying for the Combined engineering services and Assistant engineer exam have an educational qualification of B.E. or B. Tech degree. Whereas for the District educational officer exam, the candidate should have a master’s degree, a B.T., or a B.Ed. degree.

Nationality / Citizenship

The applicant must be an Indian citizen to be eligible for the role.

How to apply for TNPSC?

The aspirants who wish to apply for the TNPSC examination should apply through online registration on the official websites of TNPSC. To apply for any exam related to TNPSC, the candidates must apply for One Time Registration (OTR). After that, this OTR is applicable for the next five from the day of application registration. Few steps to apply for any examination.

  1. To register for OTR, the candidate should provide a scanned image of their photograph and signature.
  2. Once the registration is completed, the candidate can use this for the next five years. The candidate has access to the dashboard, and they can apply for any exam of their wish.
  3. When applying for the examination, the candidate must provide the exact details as they did for the OTR.
  4. All the documents of the candidate, like certificates and mark sheets, should be uploaded for verification. Therefore, if there are any malpractices or duplicate certificates, the candidate’s application process will be cancelled, and they must undergo severe measures.
  5. All the details like the official email, and mobile number of the candidate, should be given during registration. Indeed, all the information regarding the exam and other details will be provided via mail and messages to the mobile number.
  6. The payment can be made online or offline mode. As a result, all those who choose to pay online will have options like net banking, debit card/credit card. Whereas those who wish to pay offline must choose between bank challan or post office challan.

Application fees

TNPSC has a set of rules and regulations for a candidate to follow to appear for the examination. If a candidate is interested and wants to apply for any of the exams conducted by TNPSC, they must pay an amount of INR 150/- as their registration fee. This registration, referred to as One Time Registration, is valid for the next five years from the day one applied to the exam. Once a candidate gets registered, they can apply for any exam of their interests abiding by the eligibility rules. During this application process, the applicant must pay an amount of INR 200/-.

For those applicants who wish to pay offline, it is mandatory to pay the fee within two days from the submission date. There are few concessions for the examination fee. Anyone eligible for the conditions mentioned below needs not pay the examination fee. If a person does not pay the fee on time or follow the below rules, the application process will be rejected.

Examination Fee Concession:

  1. All the applicants who belong to Scheduled Castes (SC), Arunthathiyars (SC), and Scheduled Tribes (ST) are exempt from paying the examination fee.
  2. Applicants who are Differently Abled Persons (DAP) with disabilities not less than 40%, and Destitute Widow belonging to all communities are also exempt from paying the examination fee. A certificate of proof for Destitute Widows (DWs) obtained from RDO or Sub Collector should be submitted.
  3. In most Backward Class or De-notified Communities, Backward Classes need not pay the examination fee if they haven’t availed three free chances in any of the previous recruitment.
  4. Any Ex-servicemen who haven’t availed two free chances so far of any previous recruitment is exempted from paying the examination fee. But if the applicant had already been recruited to any class service or category must pay the examination fee.

All the applicants can pay the registration fee and application fee through online or offline methods. Through online, they can pay via net banking, Debit, or credit card. Whereas those who want to pay offline need to visit the State Bank of India or Indian Bank to pay the fee along with the service charges.

TNPSC Admit Card

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission releases the admit card of the applicants on the official website. All the registered candidates will also receive a notification mail and a message to their registered mobile number. All the eligible candidates for the exam will receive the admit card. One has to visit the official website to download the admit card. To download the admit card, the candidates should use the registration ID and password to log in through the portal. No candidate will receive an admit card via postal service.

Download the admit card for the TNPSC examination by following a few simple steps.

  1. Open the web browser and visit the official website.
  2. As the home page opens, click on the ‘login’ icon appearing on the screen.
  3. The candidate should provide the registration ID and password to log in through this website. If there is anyone who forgot the password, they can click on the ‘forgot password’ icon. A link is sent to the registered mail ID, provided during the registration process.
  4. Once the login process is successful, click on the ‘generate admit card’ icon which will further display the admit card on the screen.
  5. The applicants can find the admit card. The candidates should carry this printed copy of the admit card to the exam centre.

Apart from the admit card, various other documents need to be carried out during the exam and interview process. The candidate should carry the original copy of the Aadhar card/ Pan card/ driver’s license/ voter ID/ or passport to the examination hall. Anyone who does not have their identity proof along with their admit card is not allowed to appear for the examination. They should also carry these documents during their interview process. All the candidates must reach the on time to the examination hall. Anyone who appears late will not be allowed to write the exam.

Tamil Nadu Public Services Commission (TNPSC) examination announces the results of every exam on their official website. So, all the candidates who appeared in any of these exams can visit the official website. The TNPSC Group 3 exam dates are yet to be announced. Once the exam is conducted, the cut-off for the same exam will be announced within a few weeks from the exam date along with the results. 2) Concerning Chest expansion, for the position of DSP (Category I), the minimum requirement is 86 cm (Expansion 5 cms), and for the position of District Officer (Fire and Rescue services), the minimum requirement is 89 cm (Expansion 5 cms).

What is the salary range for TNPSC Group 2 exams?

There are various posts in the TNPSC Group 2 examination, and the salaries also differ from one another. But the estimated salary would be between Rs. 37200/- – Rs. 117600/-.
