How to apply for CTET 2024?
On the official website, the application form will be accessible. To register and receive alert messages throughout the process, candidates must provide their email address and personal phone number. To complete the application form, the candidate must adhere to the instructions below:
- Step 1: Go to the official website and select the CTET 2024 option.
- Step 2: Click on the ‘New Registration’ option to begin CTET registration and carefully read the CTET Notification before clicking the ‘Click here to proceed button.

CTET Application Fees
The CTET Application fees are different according to the candidate’s category. The Application fees might also differ according to the number of CTET papers one applies for. Since a candidate can apply for more than one paper, their fee will also be higher than those appearing only for Paper I or II.
The Application fees are accepted via two modes:
- E-Challans through any Syndicate Bank or Canara Bank
- Online
The registration fees can be paid via your Credit or Debit card or Internet Banking in addition to wallets. Moreover, candidates may also be charged extra GST according to the conditions set by specific banks. Some candidates may wish to apply for a photocopy of their OMR Sheet. Then, they must pay the concerned authority an additional 500/- per OMR sheet. The fee, once deposited, will not be refunded or adjusted for future testing under any circumstances.
CTET Eligibility Criteria
Candidates hoping to appear for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test need to check the box for CTET eligibility requirements so that their application is accepted. The eligibility criteria differ according to the grade level one wants to teach. Additionally, the eligibility criteria will also differ according to the paper they are applying for:
Basic Qualifications for a Teacher of Classes I to V/Primary Level:
- Appearing in or completed a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Senior Secondary with 45% marks or appearing in a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE Regulations.
- Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks, and either passed or appearing in the final year of a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education course.
- Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks, and either passed or appearing in the final year of a two-year Diploma in Education with a focus on Special Education.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks, along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).
Basic Qualifications for a Teacher of Classes VI to VIII/Elementary Level:
- Graduation is accompanied by either passing or appearing in the final year of a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks. Either passed or appeared in a one-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) course.
- Graduation with at least 45% marks. Either passed or appearing in a one-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) according to NCTE Regulations.
- Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks. Either passed or appeared in the final year of a four-year Bachelor in Elementary Education course.
- Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks. Either passed or appeared in the final year of four-year courses of B.A./B.Sc. Ed or B.A.Ed./B.Sc. Ed
- Graduation with at least 50% marks. Either passed or appeared in a one-year B.Ed. on Spl. Education.
Other things to keep in mind regarding Eligibility
- Anyone who has qualified B.Ed. Program from a recognized Institution by the NCTE is eligible to appear in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test
- Anyone pursuing teacher education courses recognized by NCTE is qualified to appear for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test.
- Anyone belonging to reserved categories like SC/ST or Differently-Abled people can receive up to 5% relaxation in qualifying marks in their respective educational exams.
- A candidate must be at least 17 years old. There is no maximum age for CTET applicants. The exam can be taken as many times as the candidate desires.
CTET Admit Card
Once a candidate has registered for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test without any errors, they should be able to download their CTET Admit cards from the official website. Admit cards are only given to qualified candidates who can attend the exam.
To the exam location, candidates must bring their CTET Admit card, two passport-size photos, and an original photo ID proof. The following instructions must be followed to download the CTET Admit card:

CTET Vacancy
The Central Board of Secondary Education does not release an official notice about the CTET vacancy in the teacher recruitment process. But, specific schools release the number of available posts yearly. Additionally, the CTET-qualified candidate can apply for various posts in private and public schools as faculty and staff members.
CTET-qualified candidates can apply for teaching roles in the following types of schools:
- Schools affiliated with the Central Government, such as Kendriya Vidyalaya and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.
- Schools under the jurisdiction of Union Territories.
- Private schools that consider CTET scores in their hiring process.
- State-run schools, which accept both TET and CTET scores.
CTET Salary
The basic pay range for teachers who have completed the CTET is between Rs.9,300 to Rs.34,800. Their monthly net pay may be as much as Rs.48,000. After passing the CTET exam, candidates receive a certificate and can start earning a respectable income. The candidates must complete numerous practice exams to perform better on test day. CTET Syllabus
The CBSE Board will publish the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) official detailed syllabus on its website. The official website notification will be updated if the CBSE changes the syllabus or exam pattern. Candidates Eligibility Test are advised to study according to the CTET syllabus. There are two sets of syllabi for each paper.

The CTET Exam will be a purely objective test. Candidates will receive one mark for each correct response. The CTET Exam carries no penalty points.

CTET Certificate Validity
The CTET certificate is now valid for life, with the change effective from 2011. Applicants with expired certificates can obtain a new one with no expiry date. States and union territories are responsible for revalidating or reissuing certificates for those whose seven-year validity period has ended since 2011. Previously, the certificate was valid for seven years from the issue date.
CTET Result
Once available, candidates can check their CTET Results online. Candidates who pass the CTET Exam with the required minimum score are eligible to apply for government and private teaching jobs throughout India. The qualifying candidates should have a minimum of 60%.
