Candidates pursuing their master’s degree or equivalent course or have appeared for their master’s degree (Final Year) examination and waiting for results may also apply for the exam.
So candidates are admitted with qualifications, and for those, who clear the KSET, eligibility certificates are issued individually on the production of proof of having passed the master’s degree or similar examination, securing a minimum of 55% marks (50% in case of SC, ST, OBC, and PWD candidates) within 2 years from the date of KSET result, failing which they’re going to be treated as disqualified.
Candidates should solely appear for the KSET exam within the relevant subject of their post-graduation. Just in case the candidates can’t find the subject of their post-graduation within the list of KSET subjects, then they’ll appear within the UGC-NET/ UGC-CSIR NET held twice a year.
Candidates from the OBCs (SC, ST & alternative Backward Classes) category and states other than Karnataka shall apply under the General Merit (GM) category solely.
Candidates who became eligible in the previous KSETs are not allowed to apply again within the same subject. If any candidate is found eligible for earlier KSET tests and reappears for the same subject within the current exam, the candidature will be canceled, and the previous eligibility will be withdrawn.
PhD degree candidates whose master’s examination had been completed by September 19, 1991, are eligible for a relaxation of 5% in their aggregate score.
