The AFCAT age limit is defined as follows: For the Flying Branch, candidates must be between 20-24 years (born between January 2, 2001, and January 1, 2005), with an extension to 26 years for those holding a valid Commercial Pilot Licence. For Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches, the age range is 20-26 years (born between January 2, 1999, and January 1, 2005).
For NCC Special Entry (Flying), the age limit is 20-24 years. Candidates must have 50% in Maths and Physics at the 10+2 level and hold a graduation degree with at least 60%. A four-year Engineering/Technology degree is required for Ground Duty (Technical). Candidates below 25 must be unmarried, and all applicants must be Indian citizens who meet the physical and medical standards set by the Indian Air Force.
The maximum age limit for the AFCAT exam is 26. This age is applicable at the commencement of the course. The same age criteria apply to women candidates.
