The POST-MATRIC, MERIT-CUM-MEANS (MCM), and SVMCM Scholarships for both fresh and renewal candidates will be announced soon. If a student is unable to renew their MCM or Post Matric scholarship for any reason, they can apply as a fresh applicant for the current session of 2025–2026. This allows students who may have missed the renewal opportunity to still receive financial assistance for their education. Aikyashree 2025: Benefits of Scholarship Programme

West Bengal Minority Development and Finance Corporation (WBMDFC) offers a variety of scholarship initiatives. However, this organization has decided to establish the Aikyashree scholarship so that students from minority communities such as Christian, Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsee, and Jain can receive financial assistance from the state government. Aside from this, there are various more reasons why the scholarship system was established. The scholarship will –

When WBMDFC started this scheme in 2019-20, there were only three scholarship schemes. But now it has five schemes in total.

Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Scholarship, West BengalThis scholarship is only for female students. The scholarship is offered to students who have qualified for class-12 from any board in West Bengal. Female students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Basic Science/Engineering/Medicine at any institute in West Bengal can apply for this scholarship. Students will get Rs. 3000 per month, if eligible. Students also get a yearly book grant of Rs. 2000.
Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship (SVMCM)This is a  merit-cum-means scholarship. This scholarship is for Technical and Professional candidates. Financial support of up to Rs. 8000 per month is given to students depending on the level of education or program. This scholarship’s distribution is subject to the student’s academic advantage and financial need.
Hindi Scholarship Scheme, West BengalThis scholarship is offered to support the Hindi language students in Non-Hindi speaking states like West Bengal. Students studying in higher secondary, undergraduate, postgraduate, and research level courses (M.Phil., PhD or M.Lit. etc.) can apply for this scholarship. Aikyashree scholarship amount ranges from Rs. 300 to Rs. 1000 per month in this program.

Aikyashree Eligibility Criteria

There are five scholarships under this scheme. All of them differ in various ways. Eligibility for each scholarship is one of them. Every scholarship program under this scheme has different eligibility criteria. The following are the eligibility criteria for the scholarship scheme’s different programs:

West Bengal Pre-matric Scholarship

  • The student must be a resident of West Bengal state.
  • He/she should be a student of class 1 to class 10.
  • He/she should belong to ST/SC category only.
  • Their yearly household income should not be more than 2,00,000.

West Bengal Post-matric Scholarship

  • The student must be a resident of the state of West Bengal.
  • He/she should be a student of class 11, 12, Graduation, or Postgraduation.
  • He/she should belong to the ST/SC or OBC category only.
  • Their yearly household income should not be more than 1,00,000 (for OBC), 2,00,000 (for SC), and 2,50,000 (for ST).

Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Scholarship, West Bengal

  • The student must be female and a resident of Bengal.
  • She must have passed the 12th class from any board.
  • She must be aspiring to study Basic Science, Medicine, or Engineering from any known institute in West Bengal.

Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship (SVMCM)

  • The student must be residing in West Bengal.
  • He/she must be studying in class 11 or 12.

The student must be pursuing a degree in Engineering, Medicine, or technical/professional courses (other than a regular graduation or postgraduation course).

  • 75% marks are mandatory in class 10 if the student is pursuing a diploma or studying at a higher secondary level.
  • 75% marks are mandatory in class 12 if the student is studying at the undergraduate level.
  • The yearly household income of the student should not be more than 2.5 lakhs.
  • The scholarship will be sanctioned on merit-cum-means criteria.
  • Students pursuing research programs (M.Phil or Ph.D.) from any state-aided institute are also eligible for this program.

Hindi Scholarship Scheme, West Bengal

  • The student must be residing in West Bengal.
  • He/she should belong to a non-Hindi-speaking state.
  • He/she should have passed secondary, higher secondary, graduation, postgraduation, or equivalent degree.
  • At least 60% marks are mandatory in the last qualifying exam in the first attempt with Hindi as one of the subjects.

Aikyashree(Oikosri) Scholarship Amount

Aikyashree scholarship is fully funded by the state government and it is granted only to students who have scored minimum qualifying marks in the previous exam. The scheme divides beneficiaries into two groups – Day scholars and hostellers. Hostellers get monetary benefits moderately higher than day scholars. Aikyashree Scholarship Application Process 2025

The following is the process to apply for the Aikyashree/Oikosri scholarship:

1st Step – Student Registration

  1. Visit the official website of WBMDFC for the Aikyashree scholarship portal (wbmdfc scholarship.org).
  2. Choose New Registration.
  3. Select the district in which you’re studying.
  4. Fill in the required information and generate your login ID and password.

2nd Step – Student’s Login

  1. Check your e-mail or phone message to get your password.
  2. Use your login ID and password to log into the student portal.

3rd Step – Complete Application

  1. Fill in the following details:
    • Basic information
    • Academic information
    • Bank details
  2. Check every piece of information carefully before final submission. Submit.
  3. Take a printout of the application form for future reference.
  4. Also, submit a copy of the application form at the concerned institute along with a photocopy of the bank passbook.

Aikyashree/ Oikosri Scholarship Application Renewal Process

West Bengal government’s Aikyashree scholarship is not a one-time benefit scheme. Deserving students can get financial aid over the years. But the mere first application isn’t enough for continuous benefit. Students have to renew their application and update it with the relevant information at prescribed times. The following are the steps to renew the scholarship application:

  1.  Visit the official website (wbmdfc scholarship.org)
  2. Click the Renewal Application option
  3. Select the district of your institute and click OK on the dialogue box appearing on the screen
  4. Use your login credentials (application ID, date of birth, password) and captcha code to log in.
  5. A one-time password (OTP) will be received on the registered mobile number. Enter the OPT and submit.
  6. There will be two options – Renew Application and Withdraw Application. Choose Renew Application.
  7. Enter the required details again i.e. name, parent’s name, email ID, DOB, etc. Submit.
  8. Fill in previous and current year academic details. Submit.
  9. Check if the entered bank details match your passbook.
  10. Check the confirmation mark that says, ‘I confirm that the bank account details are ok to the best of my knowledge & belief. Submit.
  11. Upload necessary documents.
  12. Review all the information once again and click Submit and Lock Renewal Application.
  13. Confirm if the provided information is true. Make a final submission.
  14. Take a printout for future reference.

The procedure for doing institute login is quite similar to student login. The following are steps to institute login:

  1. Visit the official website of WBMDFC (wbmdfc scholarship.org).
  2. You will see the Institute Login option on the home page. Click on it.
  3. Select your district
  4. Enter your login ID, password, and captcha code to log into the institute portal.

The procedure for doing official login is a bit different than institute login. The following are steps to student login:

What are the percentage criteria for the Aikyashree Scholarship?
