Aikyashree, also known as Oikosri, is a scholarship scheme implemented by the West Bengal state government. It is regulated by the West Bengal Minority Development and Finance Corporation. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to underprivileged students from minority communities in the state. By offering this support, the West Bengal government seeks to promote education and help these students pursue their academic goals without financial burdens. Aikyashree is designed to ensure that deserving students have access to the resources they need to succeed in their studies, ultimately contributing to their personal and professional growth. This initiative plays a vital role in empowering minority communities through education.
The Aikyashree scholarship scheme provides financial assistance to economically disadvantaged students from Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, and Parsi communities. To benefit from this scheme, students must meet specific eligibility criteria. The scholarship supports education from Class 1 all the way to the PhD level, ensuring a wide range of opportunities for students to pursue their academic goals. Beneficiaries are required to renew their applications as needed to maintain their eligibility and continue receiving support. This initiative aims to empower students from minority communities by making education more accessible and helping them overcome financial barriers. Aikyashree plays a crucial role in promoting educational success among these communities.
The POST-MATRIC, MERIT-CUM-MEANS (MCM), and SVMCM Scholarships for both fresh and renewal candidates will be announced soon. If a student is unable to renew their MCM or Post Matric scholarship for any reason, they can apply as a fresh applicant for the current session of 2025–2026. This allows students who may have missed the renewal opportunity to still receive financial assistance for their education. The scholarships are designed to support students in their academic pursuits, helping to reduce financial burdens and promote access to education. Interested students should keep an eye out for the official announcement and guidelines for application.
The West Bengal Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (WBMDFC) has not yet released a notification for this year. However, candidates can refer to the previous year’s notification for guidance. This document provides valuable information about eligibility criteria, application procedures, and scholarship details. By reviewing last year’s notification, students can better prepare for the upcoming announcements and understand what to expect. It’s important for candidates to stay informed and ready to apply once the new notification is released. This proactive approach will help ensure they don’t miss out on financial assistance opportunities for their education through WBMDFC scholarships.
The following are the highlights of the scholarship scheme. Aspiring candidates may go through the following information.
