The Karnataka State Eligibility Test will offer candidates one more chance to sign up and submit an online application, according to the Karnataka Examinations Authority. The registration, application submission, and payment window will be open on December 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (during post office working hours) at kea.kar.nic.in. The Karnataka Examinations Authority announced that there would be no more opportunities to register for KSET-2024 and that candidates using this special window would only be assigned to the Bangalore examination center.

KSET Eligibility Criteria

Age

There is no upper age limit for applying to the KSET Exam 2024. This means that candidates who are 21 years old or older can apply for the exam. Whether you are younger or older, as long as you meet the other eligibility requirements, you can take the KSET exam. This rule allows a wide range of individuals to participate, regardless of age. Educational Qualification

Candidates should have secured a minimum of 55% of marks (For the general category) and 50% for Scheduled Caste (SC),  Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disability (PWD), OBCs [Cat-I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, and IIIB] in master’s degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by the UGC New Delhi, in the subjects opted for KSET.

Important Points to Remember:

Candidates pursuing their master’s degree or equivalent course or have appeared for their master’s degree (Final Year) examination and waiting for results may also apply for the exam.

So candidates are admitted with qualifications, and for those, who clear the KSET, eligibility certificates are issued individually on the production of proof of having passed the master’s degree or similar examination, securing a minimum of 55% marks (50% in case of SC, ST, OBC, and PWD candidates) within 2 years from the date of KSET result, failing which they’re going to be treated as disqualified.

Candidates should solely appear for the KSET exam within the relevant subject of their post-graduation. Just in case the candidates can’t find the subject of their post-graduation within the list of KSET subjects, then they’ll appear within the UGC-NET/ UGC-CSIR NET held twice a year.

Candidates from the OBCs (SC, ST & alternative Backward Classes) category and states other than Karnataka shall apply under the General Merit (GM) category solely.

Candidates who became eligible in the previous KSETs are not allowed to apply again within the same subject. If any candidate is found eligible for earlier KSET tests and reappears for the same subject within the current exam, the candidature will be canceled, and the previous eligibility will be withdrawn.

PhD degree candidates whose master’s examination had been completed by September 19, 1991, are eligible for a relaxation of 5% in their aggregate score.

Nationality / Citizenship

To be eligible for the KSET Exam 2024, candidates must meet the nationality or citizenship criteria. Only Indian citizens are allowed to apply for the exam. Candidates from other countries are not eligible to register for the KSET. Therefore, if you want to take the exam, you must be an Indian citizen. Eligibility Exemption

There are some exemptions to the KSET eligibility that candidates should go through. Eligibility remains the minimum eligibility for recruiting and appointing Assistant Professors in Universities/Colleges/Institutions of upper education (Govt./Aided/Private) in Karnataka State.

The candidates who have passed the UGC-NET/CSIR JRF examination before 1989 are exempted from the examination.

For SET Candidates: The candidates who have cleared the States Eligibility Test (SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for Assistant Professor held before June 1, 2002, are exempted from appearing within the KSET. Being eligible to apply for Assistant Professor anyplace in India. For SET held from June 1, 2002, onwards, the qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor solely within the Universities/Colleges situated within the state from wherever they have cleared their SET.

  • Candidates need to visit the KSET official website.
  • After that, on the website’s homepage, all candidates must click the “Apply Online” link.
  • Then, candidates must tap on the link “Sign Up for Registration.”
  • Thereafter, all the candidates should enter all obligatory personal and academic details like email ID, mobile number, name, date of birth, gender, security code, year of passing, graduation details, CGPA/percentage obtained, etc.
  • Next, all the candidates must upload the newest passport-size photograph and scanned copy of the signature as prescribed below.

  2. Offline Payment: With this method, a candidate can make his/ her payment by visiting any branch of the State Bank Of India (SBI) bank solely. The challan is often generated online and paid in cash/cheque (solely SBI) in any respect to the SBI branches PAN India.

 Note:

  • Fees submitted through other modes like Cash order/ Demand Draft/ IPO won’t be accepted. The fee once paid won’t be refunded under any circumstances.
  • Payments towards the fee involve bank charges and should be deposited to KSET accounts through the official website or in any of the closest State Bank of India (SBI) branches.
  • After 2 working days from the date of payment, candidates have to log in with their email ID and password to download the application form and might take the printout of the 3 sheets of the application form (hard copy) in A-4 size paper.

KSET Admit Card

Exam Guidelines:

Per the directions on the admit card, candidates shall be present at the examination hall at 9 AM for the primary KSET session and at 1 PM for the second KSET session. No candidates are allowed to the examination hall/room after 10 AM for the primary session and 2 PM for the second session.

KSET Exam Pattern

The exam pattern is such that the test contains two papers- Paper I and II. Each KSET paper is conducted in a different combined session on a similar day. KSET Syllabus

KSET Salary 2024

Candidates selected for the post of Lecturer/ Assistant Professor through the exam are eligible for a salary as per the pay scale. A salary consists of several benefits and allowances.
