KSET Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should possess / be appearing for Masters Degree or any other equivalent examination from Universities / Institutions recognized by UGC New Delhi in the subject opted for KSET.

Please note that students who have passed post graduate examination in more than one subject can appear for KSET only in one subject at a time. Subject once selected is final and will not be allowed for change of subject under any circumstances.

KSET Exam Pattern

The exam pattern is such that the test contains two papers Paper I and Paper II. Each KSET paper is conducted in a different combined session on a similar day. Candidates need to appear in either paper to qualify for the exam.

Paper-I

Shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks. The questions which will be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed 10 test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.

Paper-II

Shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate.

The Candidate will have to mark the responses for questions of Paper-I and Paper-II on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Sheet provided along with the test booklet.

Candidates selected for the post of Lecturer/Assistant Professor through the exam are eligible for a salary as per the pay scale. A salary consists of several benefits and allowances. The basic pay range of the Lecturers and Assistant Professors selected through the KSET Exam 2024 is from Rs. 25,000 – Rs. 40,000. A candidate will get the desired compensation during the probation period.
