Rani Durgavati was born on October 5, 1524, into the Chandela Rajput dynasty, known for its bravery  and rich cultural heritage.

Rani Durgavati married Dalpat Shah, the crown prince of the Gondwana Kingdom, a significant kingdom in central India.

Regency and Administration

After the death of her husband in 1548, Rani Durgavati assumed the regency on behalf of her minor son, Bir Narayan.

Mughal Invasion

In 1564, the Mughal emperor Akbar sent his general, Asaf Khan, to invade Gondwana, aiming to expand the Mughal Empire into central India.
