India faces scorching heat waves between March and June, Temperatures can soar past 40°C, posing health risks, here are some tips to stay safe.

Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty, aim for at least 2-2.5 litres of water daily.

Avoid Strenuous Activity

During the hottest part of the day, typically between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m, avoid going outside or engaging in strenuous activities.

Wear Protective Clothing

Wear loose-fitting, light-coloured, and breathable clothing made from cotton or natural fibres.

Seek Shade

If you must be outdoors, use an umbrella or wear a wide-brimmed hat to protect your head and face from the sun's rays.

Open windows at night when the outside temperature is cooler, you can also use fans and damp cloths.

 You can also dampen a washcloth with cool water and apply it to your pulse points, such as your neck, wrists, and ankles.
