Pilot Baba, originally named Kapil Singh, was born on July 15, 1938,  in Sasaram, Bihar, He pursued a Master’s degree in organic chemistry.

As a courageous and skilled pilot, Pilot Baba made significant contributions during the 1965 and 1971 wars with Pakistan.

A life-altering experience occurred during the 1962 Sino-Indian War when Pilot Baba lost control of his aircraft over the North-East Frontier Agency.
